The Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Warsaw marked a historic moment following the change of reign, as His Royal Highness Prince Guillaume became the new Grand Duke of Luxembourg on 3 October 2025.
The Embassy of Luxembourg hosted an event that began with a live broadcast of the official ceremony from the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg. After 25 years of service to his nation, Grand Duke Henri abdicated from the throne in the presence of invited guests. Later, Prince Guillaume swore a constitutional oath before the Chamber of Deputies, and formally became Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
Following the live broadcast, Her Excellency Mrs Peggy Frantzen, Ambassador designate of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Poland took the stage to address the guests in Warsaw. In her address, Her Excellency Ambassador Frantzen thanked attendees for joining the celebrations at the embassy and described it as “a historical day in Luxembourg” and “a change of throne remains a rare event”. H.E. Ambassador Frantzen also paid tribute to Grand Duke Henri and said: we took the time as a nation to pay homepage and express our gratitude for his 25 years of devoted service to the country.
