On 28 May, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw hosted the third annual celebration of the National Day and Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Croatia.
The ceremony was opened by Professor Strahl, who welcomed guests to the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and underlined the ties between the two nations. He drew attention to John Paul II, as well as to the composer and graduate Ludomir Michał Rogowski, who lived in Dubrovnik from 1926 to 1952 and exerted a considerable influence on the city’s musical life.
The Rector also thanked His Excellency Tomislav Vidošević, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Poland, for his cooperation with the university. He stressed that the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music is actively developing relations between the two countries, raising them to a new level. This is borne out, among other things, by the Chopin University Big Band concert, which took place on 6 March this year in Dubrovnik, and by the signing on 13 March of a cooperation agreement between three Warsaw art schools – the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, the Theatre Academy, and the Academy of Fine Arts – and the University of Zagreb. The event was hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Poland, His Excellency Tomislav Vidošević, who spoke in his address of the special bond between the two nations.
