On October 14th, a ceremony was held at the Warsaw Uprising Museum to commemorate the National Day and Armed Forces Day of the Slovak Republic.

The event was hosted by H.E. Andrea Elscheková Matisová, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, and Mr.Oskar Elschek. Holding the ceremony at such a symbolic venue served not only as a tribute to history but also as a reminder of the deep bonds between Poland and Slovakia – shared experiences of courage, the fight for freedom, and a sense of responsibility for the future.

This is not an ordinary museum. Its walls and exhibits do not remain silent—they ask us: how will we honor this legacy today? – said Ambassador Elscheková Matisová, speaking to the unique character of the Warsaw Uprising Museum. As one of the most powerful symbols of heroism and solidarity in Europe, the museum provided a meaningful setting for both celebration and reflection on the relevance of history in today’s uncertain world.

The ceremony commemorated three milestones of modern Slovak history: the 81st anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, Constitution Day of the Slovak Republic, and Armed Forces Day. As the Ambassador emphasized, each of these dates is not only a commemoration but also a call to action for future generations.
