On 25September 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Warsaw hosted a ceremony to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Korea and Armed Forces Day.
This year’s event held particular significance, as it marked the first official reception attended by the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Poland, His Excellency Tae Jun-youl.
In his inaugural address, Ambassador Tae Jun-youl warmly thanked the guests for their presence and participation in such an important occasion for his nation. He highlighted the strong and evolving political, economic, and cultural ties between South Korea and Poland, which have grown steadily over the years.
– Our two nations, Korea and Poland, lie at opposite ends of the Eurasian continent. Historically, our paths have rarely crossed. Yet, we share striking similarities. Both countries have faced challenges from powerful neighbours. At times, we have lost our statehood – but never our identity. We have rebuilt our nations from the ashes of war, and through resilience and determination, we have created democracy and a market economy with our own hands.
