Export begins here

2024-02-09

This was the motto under which representatives of the SME sector and their partners – representatives of regions and development institutions – met on 4-5 October at a BUSINESS FORUM organised by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. Entrepreneurs were looking for new opportunities for expansion on foreign markets. It was also a unique opportunity to meet in person with experts from over 70 foreign markets, gain practical knowledge and make contacts. The meeting took place at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw.

As part of this year’s edition of the PAIH Business Forum, the organisers prepared 27 thematic panels, devoted both to specific industries and specific export directions. The thematic scope of the event was broad. Participants were treated to 11 stages on which 410 experts conducted a total of 85 panels and workshops aimed at entrepreneurs. Among the topics of this year’s Forum were export opportunities, the best directions for expansion or the challenges of energy transition, sustainable development, social change and rapid technological development. Held in parallel was the 2nd Forum on Reconstruction of Ukraine, with H.E. Vasyl Zwarycz, Ambassador of Ukraine, as special guest speaker, and the Poland – Africa Forum, where one of the honoured speakers was H.E. Anastase Shyaka, Ambassador of Rwanda to Poland.

The aim of this edition of the Business Forum was to draw the attention of Polish entrepreneurs to new export directions. Particular emphasis was placed on panels devoted to business relations with the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.

In addition to workshops and panels devoted to the presentation of markets and sectors, the event included presentations of export and investment offers, consultations for SMEs, presentations of PAIH’s partners – institutions supporting the foreign expansion of Polish entities, B2B meetings – direct meetings with employees of foreign trade offices with representatives of regional partners, embassies, chambers of commerce and business support institutions, as well as general networking.

Very popular were individual meetings of entrepreneurs with employees of 56 foreign trade offices, during which entrepreneurs could learn about export opportunities and economic cooperation on
a selected market.

A novelty at this year’s Forum was a zone dedicated to meetings and talks with speakers – the Mentoring Zone – where Forum participants could hold mentoring talks on topics of interest to them. This was a very popular form of consultation.

The stands of their countries, manned by representatives of foreign trade offices, were also visited by ambassadors and trade counsellors, who provided knowledge and contacts to interested entrepreneurs.

The Business Forum was visited by more than 6,000 people, which may indicate that Polish entrepreneurs representing various industries are opening up more and more with new technologies to foreign markets.

We wish you good luck with your expansion into new markets!
