On November 14 in Warsaw, a ceremonial reception was held to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the November Revolution – one of the most defining moments in Algeria’s modern history.

The evening was hosted by H.E. Mohamed Salah Eddine Belaid, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Polish government, the cultural and business sectors, and members of the Algerian community in Poland.

The ceremony opened with remarks by Ambassador Belaid, who reflected on the historical and moral significance of Algeria’s struggle for independence. Quoting Didouche Mourad, one of the first martyrs of the Revolution – If we must die… defend our memory! – the Ambassador underscored the enduring importance of national memory and responsibility. He noted that these words continue to serve as a moral foundation for Algerian statehood and a source of inspiration for future generations committed to building a sovereign and modern nation.
