204 years of Peruvian Independence and over a Century of Friendship

On July 24 this year, Warsaw hosted a ceremony marking the 204th anniversary of Peru’s independence.

The reception, organized by the Embassy of Peru in Poland, drew a distinguished audience that included representatives of the Polish government, the diplomatic corps, and figures from the worlds of culture, science, and business. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Undersecretary of State Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef.

The host of the evening, H.E. Ambassador Lissette Nalvarte, opened the celebration with a speech that reflected on the historical importance of July 28, 1821, for the Peruvian people and highlighted the enduring and deep ties between Peru and Poland.
On this day, we commemorate not only the proclamation of our independence in 1821 but also the dedication, struggle, and dreams of those who fought for Peru’s sovereignty – the Ambassador said.
