On 29 October 2025, a ceremonial reception was held in Warsaw to mark the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye.<\/strong><\/p>\n

H.E. Rauf Alp Denkta\u015f, Ambassador of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye to Poland, emphasized not only the significance of this special day in his speech, but also the enduring Turkish-Polish relationship and the achievements T\u00fcrkiye has made during its first century as a republic.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador began by reflecting on the path the modern republic has taken. \u2013 We have come a long way in the first hundred years of our Republic\u2019s existence. Today, T\u00fcrkiye is the 17th largest economy in the world and a member of the G20<\/em> \u2013 he noted. He highlighted the country\u2019s dynamic transformation from an agriculture-based economy into one of the most significant industrial centres in the region. Ambassador Denkta\u015f also pointed out the active role Turkish companies play in Poland\u2019s strategic infrastructure development, including the construction of metro lines, ring roads, power plants, and floating LNG terminals.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador\u2019s address also touched on security and defence. As a NATO member for 73 years, T\u00fcrkiye plays a key role in ensuring peace and stability in Europe. He underscored that T\u00fcrkiye has the largest standing NATO army in the European part of the Alliance and the second-largest fleet of main battle tanks \u2013 including the domestically produced Altay tanks \u2013 as well as the second-largest fleet of F-16 aircraft globally. Additionally, T\u00fcrkiye continues to develop cutting-edge air defence systems, electronic warfare capabilities, and military drones, placing the country among global defence leader – I have tried to highlight the progress that T\u00fcrkiye has made in the first century of its existence. But, as Marshal Pi\u0142sudski once said: To be defeated and not submit \u2013 that is victory. To be victorious and rest on laurels \u2013 that is defeat<\/strong><\/em> – the Ambassador remarked, emphasizing that in its second century, T\u00fcrkiye will not rest on its laurels.<\/p>\n
