Next, His Excellency Assad Jos\u00e9 Jater Pe\u00f1a, Colombia&#8217;s Ambassador to Poland, gave a speech.<br \/>\n\u2013 <em>Thank you all for participating in the celebration of the 215th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Colombia, which took place in Santaf\u00e9 de Bogot\u00e1 on 20 July 1810. Although Colombia was formally established on 7 August 1819 with the Battle of Boyac\u00e1, it has remained an independent state ever since and continually strengthened its democracy, one of the oldest in the Americas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Spanning an impressive area of over two million square kilometres and boasting access to two oceans and a dynamic transportation infrastructure, Colombia is emerging as a key player in global trade and international cooperation. As His Excellency Assad Jos\u00e9 Jater Pe\u00f1a emphasised in his speech, Colombia represents a natural bridge for global trade.
