Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia

On 28 May of this year, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Warsaw held a reception on the occasion of Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia and Armed Forces Day. The ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

The reception opened with a speech by His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Tomislav Vidošević, who welcomed the numerous guests, and then congratulated the Poles on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Republic of Poland’s accession to NATO and the twentieth anniversary of full membership in the European Union.

The Ambassador stressed that the Republic of Croatia is celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of its accession to NATO, a fact of great importance to our friendly nations and states, as well as for all of Europe in view of the extremely complex geopolitical relations and the brutal aggression against neighbouring Ukraine. In his speech he said, I would like to emphasize that we in Croatia, like few others, understand well what it means the necessity of solidarity and unity in defense of the common values of democratic societies respecting the international legal order. Croatia won its freedom and independence thanks to the victory in the war for its homeland, and our membership in the European Union and NATO is a path that we wholeheartedly support vis-à-vis our neighbours and friends in the southeast of Europe.
