In 2023, significant shifts occurred in the economic landscape of Central and Eastern Europe. Romania overtook the Czech Republic to become the second-largest economy in the region in terms of gross domestic product.
Despite global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Romania’s economy remains relatively stable and shows continued growth potential. An increasing number of Polish companies – both large corporations and SMEs – are taking an interest in the Romanian market. A key platform supporting cooperation between Polish and Romanian businesses is the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PRBCC), headquartered in Warsaw.
Founded in 2017 by Polish and Romanian businesses, the Chamber operates as an independent and dynamic business platform focused on developing economic relations between the two countries. Its main objectives include promoting bilateral relations, supporting companies in both markets, providing reliable economic information, and organizing events that foster economic cooperation.
One such event organized by the Chamber – attended by representatives of Ambasador magazine – was the reception celebrating Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day, held on March 6 at the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek, near Warsaw. The event brought together member companies of the Chamber as well as representatives from both Polish and Romanian business communities and partner business organizations. The Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Poland was represented by Minister-Counselor Ștefan Porojan from the Economic and Commercial Promotion Office. Events like the Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day reception play a key role – aligned with the Chamber’s mission – in strengthening economic cooperation and sustaining partnerships built over decades.
