Pakistan National Day in Warsaw – Celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the Lahore Resolution and Strengthening Polish-Pakistani Relations

On 08 April 2025, a celebration was held at a hotel in Warsaw to mark Pakistan’s National Day. The event commemorated the 85^th anniversary of the adoption of the historic Lahore Resolution.

His Excellency Malik Muhammad Farooq, the Pakistani Ambassador to Poland, gave a speech thanking the guests for attending and providing a historical overview of the creation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Established in 1947, Pakistan’s existence has always been rooted in values such as democracy, social justice, and the protection of minority rights. Today, the country is also focused on economic development based on tolerance, pluralism, and peace.

In his address, His Excellency also highlighted the basis of the friendly relations between Pakistan and Poland:

– These same values form the basis of the warm and friendly relations between the two countries. Starting in 1948, Poland helped develop the Pakistan Air Force together with the Royal Air Force. Within just ten years, Pakistan set a world record in air force history by forming a squadron of sixteen fighter jets. Formal diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Poland were established on 17 December 1962, and Pakistan opened its embassy in Warsaw in 1969. Bilateral relations have made significant progress in recent years, especially in the last 20 years, and now cover many areas, including economic, defence, trade, political, educational, and scientific cooperation. These relations are set to  grow further in the years ahead. Since Pakistan introduced its e-visa system, the number of Polish tourists visiting Pakistan has increased significantly. Today, our bilateral relations are characterised by warmth and friendship. Year 2022 marked the 60^th  anniversary of diplomatic ties – said the Ambassador.
