Football emotions at the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Warsaw

2024-06-05

Last Friday, H.E. Saad Saleh Alsaleh Ambassador of Saudi Arabia invited guests to an interesting sporting event – the final football match of the King’s Cup of Saudi Arabia. Guests watched a live broadcast of the event on a large screen at the embassy.

Among those invited were ambassadors of Arab countries, diplomats and Polish friends of the embassy.

There was plenty of sporting excitement that evening. Some cheered for the Al Hilal team playing in the blue jerseys, while others kept their fingers crossed for the victory of the yellows, namely Al Nassr with Rolando in the line-up. The match was evenly matched, very passionate and fierce. High emotions prevailed on the pitch in Riyadh during almost the entire encounter. The referee admonished the players of both teams several times, showing red and yellow cards. The culmination of emotions, both on the pitch and in the embassy, came at the end of the match when penalty kicks were taken. Most of the guests at the embassy watched them standing up.

The King’s Cup went to the Al Hilal team, who claimed victory after extra time and a decisive penalty shootout. The winning team received the trophy from Prime Minister and heir to the throne Muhammad ibn Salman ibn Abd al-Aziz Al Su’ud.

There was great joy for the winners that evening, great sadness for the defeated. Although not all fans were satisfied with the outcome of the match, the football evening at the Saudi Arabian embassy ended in a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

Congratulations to the winning team!
