Extraordinary concert in celebration of Croatian Republic Day

On May 15, Statehood and Armed Forces Day were celebrated at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music’s concert hall. Among the guests were representatives of the diplomatic corps and NATO. Representing the Polish authorities was Minister Jakub Stefaniak, Secretary of State and Deputy Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

In his welcome address, His Excellency Tomislav Vidošević, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, said:

– This concert hall, filled to capacity in the musical sanctuary that is the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, is the best testament to the friendship between our two closely connected Slavic nations, which share common values and are members of NATO and the European Union.

Ambassador Vidošević also addressed several issues of symbolic and practical significance to Polish-Croatian relations and the broader geopolitical context:

– Our economic exchange is steadily growing, with an increasing number of Polish investments in Croatia. Few nations understand each other as well, and few share a common readiness to defend the peace so desperately needed in today’s challenging world. The Europe we believe in is founded on respect for diversity, which we see as a strength rather than an obstacle. Both Croatia and Poland link our security to the transatlantic alliance. Who better understands this than us Croats, who gained our freedom and independence through victory in the Homeland War, and you Poles, who deeply comprehend the pursuit of a just peace, as evidenced by your support for Ukraine.
