The Canadian Embassy in Poland celebrated Canada Day on June 26, welcoming a host of guests, including representatives of the diplomatic corps, politicians, and business partners. On a sunny June morning, the embassy garden was filled with an atmosphere of friendship, unity – and the unmistakable scent of maple syrup.
The official ceremony began with the playing of the Canadian national anthem and the Polish one, “Mazurek Dąbrowskiego”, by the Polish Armed Forces Representative Band.
Her Excellency Ambassador Catherine Godin then addressed the attendees: – Minister, Excellencies, distinguished guests, but above all, dear friends of Canada – she began warmly and proudly, highlighting the shared celebration as a testament to the close ties between Canada and Poland.
Ambassador Godin expressed gratitude to her embassy team for organizing the event and reflected on the changes the past year has brought – for Canada and the world.
– This past year has given my country the opportunity to take a fresh look at what we expect from the future and what we can offer one another, she said, affirming that Canada remains a confident, diverse nation ready to meet global challenges.
She emphasized Canada’s strong partnership with Poland, calling it ’an example of a reliable relationship’.
– Both Canada and Poland can feel confident knowing they have a genuine and committed partner on the other side – she noted.
