On October 30, the historic interiors of the Palace on the Isle resonated with the sounds of piano and saxophone, carrying the audience on a musical journey from Malta to Poland.
The recital was organized by the Embassy of Malta, in collaboration with the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw, and supported by Arts Council Malta, Visit Malta, Heritage Malta, and the Cultural Fund of the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade. The evening featured a piano-saxophone performance by Dr Christine Zerafa and Mr Philip Attard, held at the iconic Palace on the Isle within the Royal Łazienki Museum.
Held under the theme “Bridges of Sound and History: From Malta to Poland,” the concert highlighted the cultural richness of both nations. The program celebrated the way music and culture can bridge differences and unite people across Europe’s vibrant mosaic.
The emotional performance by acclaimed saxophonist Philip Attard and renowned pianist Christine Zerafa took listeners through a repertoire that spanned cultures and centuries. Their diverse program included the poetic lyricism of Chopin’s beloved Nocturne, the rhythmic dynamism of Robert Muczynski’s Sonata for Saxophone and Piano, and the folkloric charm of Charles Camilleri’s Three Folk Songs, showcasing the musical heritage of both Poland and Malta.
