From Warsaw to Cambridge – academic success stories from Akademeia High School Students

2025-11-11

Polish secondary school students are increasingly securing places at the world’s top universities – from Cambridge and Oxford to Ivy League institutions. It turns out that achieving high grades is not enough; it’s equally important to develop skills that are valued on the global educational and professional stage. Dr Karolina Watras, Director of Akademeia High School – one of the most prestigious international secondary schools in Poland – explains what really matters on the journey “from Warsaw to Cambridge”.

The past school year has been a remarkable one for Akademeia High School. You’ve earned three prestigious accreditations and your graduates have achieved some impressive results. What do these accomplishments mean for the school?
It truly has been a landmark year. In the 2024/2025 academic year, we received three international accreditations: AoBSO (Association of British Schools Overseas), COBIS (Council of British International Schools), and HMC (The Heads’ Conference). These accreditations confirm the highest quality of our education and place us among the top international schools in Poland. These are rigorous processes that evaluate every aspect of a school’s operations – from teaching standards to the atmosphere and the support provided for student development. For us, it is not only a great honour, but also a commitment to continuously raise the standards of education.
